The Incredible Exchange is designed for youth ages 12-15 to volunteer in the community in exchange for an activity of their choice, such as ski or golf pass, dance, music or horseback riding lessons. Participants volunteer at “exchange sites” such as community centers, nursing homes and hospitals. Participants accrue Exchange Credits equal to the number of hours they have volunteered. Upon completion of the program (25-50 volunteer hours), the participant receives an Exchange Credit Certificate redeemable for their chosen activity, as well as the skills learned through their volunteer experience. Exchange Sites
A wide variety of sites where youth can give of their time and skills are available, including nursing homes, hospitals, recreation, community, and youth centers. Glensheen, Hartley Nature Center, and North Country R.I.D.E. are other examples of exchange sites. Opportunities are available for youth who enjoy children, animals, the outdoors, or who have skills in organizing, computers, music or theatre.

Become Part of The Incredible Exchange
Participation is open to youths 12 to 15 years old who live in southern St. Louis County. The application deadline for summer participation is April 15, and for fall-winter participation is October 31.

Goals of The Incredible Exchange
The Incredible Exchange was developed to build youth volunteerism in the community and increase the potential to create a positive relationship between youth and adults. In addition, the Incredible Exchange allows youth access to recreation and cultural opportunities, promoting constructive use of free time. It is hoped that, through The Incredible Exchange, youth will discover the rewards of volunteering and continue to give of their time and skills throughout their lives.
