SMDC Medical Center has had more Incredible Exchange volunteers than any other site. They have many different areas and departments for youth volunteers, including Gift Shop, Flower Delivery, Health Information Services, Garden Cafe, Nursing Floor Units, Surgical Services and more. Volunteers must be at least 13 ½ to work at SMDC. Pictured above is Hannah, who volunteers in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Her tasks include preparing a crib for a new arrival and organizing the infant sleepers and blankets.
Ana works in Sterile Processing, where she restocks sterile supplies and delivers them to the appropriate departments when they are needed.There is even a childcare center at SMDC. This is where Hayley spends her time while volunteering.
Volunteer Olivia is shown here restocking supplies for the Hospice. Stephanie works in the Patient Education Department with Mentor Patricia. They are revieiwing smoking cessation materials for an upcoming training. Peter finds a patient's medical record before delivering it to the Oncology Department.Joy is the Volunteer Supervisor for SMDC.
